Fritz Hansen in Collaboration with Benjamin Hubert Launches the Pair Chair

At the 2016 London Design Festival, Fritz Hansen pre-launches the stackable Pair Chair, marking their first collaboration with Benjamin Hubert, founder of Layer Design Agency. Channeling the furniture company’s signature modern aesthetics, the design is visually bold but is very adaptable to fit into any interior environment. Its suitability for various uses is a result of its precisely refined development, where over 30 prototypes were created over a three-year period.

Christian Andresen, head of design at Fritz Hansen, explains: ‘Benjamin has inspired us by creating something new with a strong emotional story, while still embracing the Fritz Hansen DNA. We have been seeking to expand our contemporary collection to add to our classic collection of stackable chairs, and with the Pair Chair, we hope to meet the demands of the market. Many products can be made in different colors, but very few offer the pair chair’s visual versatility.’

Benjamin Hubert’s Pair Chair builds upon Fritz Hansen’s heritage of pioneering plywood to create fluid furniture forms. The chair pairs a traditional plywood seat shell with an injection-molded polycarbonate backrest, which utilizes a 10% transparency to give itself a glass-like quality. This composition of materials creates an interesting interaction between mid-century and modern design. Its multiple color options for the seat, legs, and backrest – available with or without arms – further strengthens this connection between its core elements, and creates countless color possibilities.

Windowseat Lounge

Suitable for both public and private spaces, the Windowseat is designed as a comfortable refuge from the hustle and bustle of lobbies, airports or busy __home environments. As office spaces shift toward the open plan, it is important to have a place to escape, to think, to make a call, or relax. While sitting in the Windowseat, the ambient noise is actually muffled and a new visual perspective is created, making the chair a multisensory experience.

Rounded Ceramic Lamps

A recollection of childhood, of good moods belonging to the past, thinking of a reminiscence imprinted in our memory and turn it into a project, into an object, into lighting. That is exactly what Edmondo Testaguzza did while designing Le Trulle: a collection of suspended lamps reminding in their rounded shapes and their whiteness of the famous Apulian Trulli.

Those special houses, able to last keep on striking us, indeed. In a general process of updating and formal design, old architecture structures become furnishing objects reminding of open spaces, summer warmth conveying good sensations of comfort and relax. Soft lines, with no edges at all where the upper part is in natural ceramic and the shade is a metal thread seem to be combined, in order to create an in-built couple willing to offer lighting to welcoming interiors.

Unique and Fascinating Restaurant Decor

An original Roman ruins site provides the unique and fascinating surrounding for this new concept restaurant located in the historical town of Oderzo, in the Veneto region. Italian dishes cooked on a Teppanyaki by the restaurant’s Michelin starred Chef involve the customers into the cooking experience. Full height laser cut metal screens provide a visually permeable edge to the restaurant. Their changeability can create various spatial configurations and ambiances and the variegated perforated geometry controls the views.
