I stumbled upon the Montreal townhouse of New York interior designer Garrow Kedigian and had to share because it is all kinds of traditional fabulousness. He is a master at making classic look chic, and his colours selections are outstanding. It may be fragile and not very easy to maintain, but the Black & Blue by Evangelos Vasileiou makes the transparent glass coffee table into very diverting and functional experience. Simple and clear lined the ‘mix & match’ composition of this fashionable object can be used in a variety of functional ways: as a low table with a range of levels for storage of magazines, remote controls, or as a low shelving: when placed against a wall. It has an airy presence and contemporary expression – a steel structure supports shelves in the blue-tinted clear glass, composing a light and joyous combination of materials and colors – and functional bonus, it makes it suitable for a variety of modern decor compositions.

These hexagonal creations of German designer Sebastian Scherer reminds us of exquisite representation of the honeycomb ornaments – only decided in transparent shades of blue, green, gray and bronze colored glass – a contemporary solution for a timeless shape. They can be arranged and fit like puzzle pieces or used singularly. Transparent and light they can bring playful ease to any home.

Hamburg-based Studio Marfa tells a philosophical story with the presentation of this new piece – the Lunar table. A story of new beginnings in a far away world – the childlike fantasies about infinite space and the incredible expectations in what may be hidden there. Concentric circles of gradually changing hues of colored glass laid upon shuttle- like a base of black metal.

The clean, floating, silhouette of this contemporary creation of Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance corresponds nicely with the spiritual meaning of its name – Aoyama, the Blue Mountain, a district of Tokyo where the Zen culture and modern life meet. The tinted blue glass and the minimalist expression of the round coffee table possess certain serenity of design.

Metal Coffee Tables

Antonino Sciortino had created an airy contemporary collection of steel tables that offers a great variety of sizes, shapes (round, square and rectangular) and colors (sky blue, green, ivory, mud, plum, chocolate and black), which makes it suitable for many different decor compositions. The signature, airy and fragile-looking base of the table contrast with the solidity of the construction materials creating dynamic tension.

This piece of art from the Canadian studio UUfie is one our favorite selections for modern coffee tables – it embeds liquid metals into the growth lines of wood creating in this way a unique set of textured tables. Made in different sizes and colors each of the tables possesses a central section made of wood that smoothly tapers out into a metal edge, which on its part “leaks” into graceful legs.

The table set by Andreas Kowalewski combines dark ash steel and copper-plated steel that composes two elegant, seemingly sculpted airy coffee tables. Their contemporary shape and light expression sit very well on modern interior. And don’t forget the trendy brass color always brings certain glamor into the design arrangement.

The simplicity and the clear expression of this project by Roberto Lazzeroni, Mr. Zheng coffee tables is inspired from the bamboo effect from the Far East. The elegant simplicity of this modern piece is created by London design studio Pinch. The Rodan coffee table features the beauty of the clear wood formed into a simple, functional shape.
