Another week, another beautiful English-style kitchen accept this time with a twist on the traditional. I love the architectural details of this period home and the kitchen by Blakes London sits perfectly within its historic shell while still having all the mod cons. Not sure what I like best ... the amazing marble island, the beautifully detailed cupboards or that super sexy tap.

An eclectic Victorian home in South Africa
When an interior designer in South Africa gets to finally purchase and design his own home, you know he's going to go a little wild and push some boundaries. This 100+ year old Victorian in Robertson, a town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, is everything it should be, thanks to the talent and audacity of Etienne Hanekom. Bold, eclectic and fun. I absolutely love everything about this home (minus the mounted taxidermy), especially the mix of classic and modern, and dark colour palette. Edinburgh House
The linear composition of this house and site is interrupted by the volumes of lightwells, stairs and courtyard. The resulting interpenetration of views, light and space along the south side of the __home result in strong indoor-outdoor connections.
Heated exposed concrete floors ensure comfort in the presence of large glazed areas. Cabinetry in matte white lacquer and stained ash veneer flow through the interconnected kitchen, living and dining spaces. Reclaimed white oak boards clad the exterior volumes. via
